Steps for updating your website on new products and prices on a weekly basis.

After a month of research and review of the features of x-cart.we have come up with a simplified way of updating prices and products on x-cart.

We have created the files below in accordance to the categories of product and different mark-up percentages namely 10%, 12.5%, 15%, 17.5%, 20%, 22.5% and 25% to cater to our resellers’ mark-up options. Resellers can still make changes to prices on each individual product by themselves through the admin section of their respective websites.

Please noted as our Mobile Phone and Digital Camera are large, so we have split into few files,
For Mobile Phone - Split to 3 files
For Digital Camera - Split to 2 Files, please make sure all files are uploaded.


* Please take noted that prices will be update once a week.

New Data Files - New xcart version (Those purchase webstore on May 2007 onwards)

Download step for text files - New Version (.txt)

1. While you are at xcart admin section, please go to administration section on the left and site

2. Click on the Import/Export sections

3. In the "Import/Export" page,

4. Then select CSV delimiter: "Tab"

5. Then select the source import files : to URL, see picture

5. Then copy the URL files which you wish to upload, and paste it to, see picture
 

6. Then click import button.

7. Please be patients, it take several minute to upload the data files.

8. After imported successful, it will show “Data imported successfully”

9. Then, the whole price updating process is completed.

Download step for text files - Old Version (.txt)

1. Download the files based on the markup and currency that you want by saving them on your hard disk. You can do this by right clicking the link above and choose the “Save Page as”. It should be a text files, after saving to your computer.

For example : CamcorderGBP100_OLD.txt (Camcorder Data Files with GBP 10% Mark Up)

2. While you are at xcart admin section, please select "import products" on the left hand side of the menu.

3. In the "import products" page,

4. Select get column name from 1st row. see picture.


5. Then select CSV delimiter: "Tab"

6. Please change the “categories” fields from /// to / (This step are important)

7. Select the CSV file that you have downloaded from our server for uploading and importing.

8. Click on the import products button to start importing. (*Do not select drop all products before import)
 

8. After importing the products, it will show the summary of products that have been imported. Then Click continue import button.

9. When you have imported the file successfully, please click finish button.

10. Then, the whole price updating process is completed.
